clean facebook profile

If there’s one thing I really hate about Facebook, it’s all the useless applications. There’s nothing worse that viewing a friend’s profile which is filled with useless bite-you’re-a-vampire-or-zombie applications. Not only are these profiles a complete waste of bandwidth (a scarce resource in South Africa), but they also make profile pages slow and hard to navigate.

Thankfully though, by some luck of the draw, I found an application (ironic?) which blocks all the useless applications on friends’ profiles. The application is called Clean Profile and is available here. Basically, when viewing a profile which is filled with useless applications, you can click on a “View Clean Profile” link, which then blocks all the junk on the page. Nifty isn’t it?

Another neat little trick which I found out today, allows you to get rid of those annoying texas-holdem-what-drug-are-you-like requests forever. Whenever you receive a request from a useless application, go to the application and look for the link “Block Application” on the right – that will stop the application from ever coming near you again.
